Thank you, Duncan Hines, for this great, easy recipe.
Same old story…going to a venue…need to take something!!! Bought two cake mixes on sale (2 for the price of 1). Now, what to do with the one left!!!
Well, looked up on the internet and found this wonderful, tasty recipe. I had some Barry Callebaut semisweet chocolate chunks (same size as a chip) and sliced almonds. These chocolate chunks are 44% chocolate liquor (everything is good with a little liquor in it, right).
GERMAN SWEET CHOCOLATE COOKIES
1 pkg. Duncan Hines German Sweet Chocolate cake
1 stick melted butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 c. semisweet chocolate chunks
1/2 c. sliced almonds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a bowl, place cake mix, eggs, butter, brown sugar and vanilla. Stir to combine. (I found my mix a little bit lumpy so I did use a hand mixer). Add chocolate and nuts. Drop by tablespoons onto parchment lined sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes, turn pans and bake for another 2-4. Cool on sheets. My batch made about 29 cookies.
